Holiday Cocktails and Mocktails Zoom Event
Thursday, December 10 at 6pm Pacific!

 

JoAnn Street and Benny Hurwitz, Wild Turkey Distilling Co. Brand Ambassadors (Wild Turkey and Russell’s Reserve), will teach us how to make two holiday cocktails and a non-alcoholic mocktail (ingredient and tools lists below).

*Please note all participants must be 21

A little bit about JoAnn and Benny:     

In addition to being a Brand Ambassador, JoAnn is the granddaughter of Master Distiller Jimmy Russell and the niece of Master Distiller Eddie Russell. JoAnn started her career in American Whiskey after graduating from University of Kentucky, first as a tour guide at the Wild Turkey Visitor Center, learning the meticulous craft of whiskey-making from the ground up like her forefathers before her. As her passion for the craft increased and American Whiskey cemented itself as the spirit du jour, JoAnn segued her role into one that afforded her more personal interaction and engagement with the bourbon community at large. 

 

Prior to joining Wild Turkey as National Brand Ambassador, Benny Hurwitz served as Head Bartender at Washington D.C. hotspot, the Jack Rose Dining Saloon, a high-end American bar known for housing a respected collection of more than 2,700 global whiskies. There, Hurwitz oversaw all bar programs for Jack Rose, including its intimate basement bar, Dram & Grain. As the innovator behind their dynamic cocktail menu, Hurwitz’s creations such as the Banana Bread Old Fashioned and Bourbon-Blackberry cocktail have been featured in Tasting Table, Chilled Magazine, DCist, VH1 and Wine & Spirits, among others

                                                                                                                                 

Ingredient List:

Hot Toddy

  • Recommended Wild Turkey 101 or Wild Turkey 81 bourbon, though can be any bourbon that you have available
  • Orange and Spice Tea
  • Honey
  • Lemon Juice
  • Cinnamon Stick

Boulevardier

  • Recommended Wild Turkey or Russell’s Reserve 10yr, though can be any bourbon that you have available
    • If you aren’t a bourbon drinker, you can make this drink with gin, tequila, rum, or mezcal! (no vodka)
  • Campari
  • Sweet Vermouth
  • Ice
  • Orange

No Proof Apple Cider (hot or cold): Non-Alcoholic Mocktail

  • Apple Cider (3 cups)
  • Maple Syrup
  • 1 Ceylon Cinnamon Stick
  • Cloves
  • Allspice Berries
  • Lemon
  • Orange

Tools:

  • Bar spoon, butter knife, or chopstick (for stirring)
  • Shaker tins or mason jar with lid (to shake)
  • Jigger or small measuring cups/tablespoons
  • Veggie peeler or paring knife 
  • Medium sauce pot
  • Cheese cloth or fine strainer
