Wednesday, September 27, 2023
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Robertson Auditorium

Please join Shalanda Baker, Director of the Office of Economic Impact and Diversity at the U.S. Department of Energy, as she shares her passion for climate justice and her research on the equity dimension of the global transition away from fossil fuel energy to cleaner energy. Her book, Revolutionary Power: An Activist’s Guide to the Energy Transition (Island Press 2021), argues that the technical terrain of energy policy should be the next domain to advance civil rights. Her book is also available free through U-M library access. Moderated by Liesl Eichler Clark, U-M Director of Climate Action Engagement.

Hosted by the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability, Ross School of Business, Graham Sustainability Institute, and Planet Blue. Special thanks to our marketing partners: Ford School of Public Policy, Democracy and Debate, Erb Institute, and the School of Public Health.
