Making the Most of the CEO/Board Partnership
#15031026
Thursday, July 8, 2021
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Online: Zoom

Joining a Nonprofit Board can be both exciting and extremely rewarding, and a good opportunity to be a leader within your communities. But the experience can also be very different from traditional jobs and for-profit Boards. The Ross Alumni Club of SE Michigan is excited to organize a virtual series to learn more about achieving excellence and driving meaningful engagement as a Nonprofit Board Member, governance and the roles and responsibilities as a Board Member, and getting started in Board service.

Our next session speaker will be Ross Alum Susan Detwiler. Susan helps organizations align their planning with vision, values and mission. She brings extensive experience in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, including five years as an Executive Director and service on nonprofit boards. Susan facilitates strategic planning for large and small clients, teaches governance and board relations, and facilitates board and staff retreats. Among recent clients are Longwood Gardens, University of Delaware Department of Music, Jenkins Arboretum, American Public Gardens Association, Delaware Division of the Arts, Music School of Delaware, Family Promise and Brandywine Zoo. Susan is a Creating the Future™ Fellow and has a BS in Business Administration from SUNY Albany and earned her MBA from the University of Michigan.
