Michigan Ross welcomes prominent political activist, scholar, and writer Angela Davis as the keynote speaker of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium Keynote Memorial Lecture. Davis has been deeply involved in social justice around the world for more than 60 years, and her work has emphasized the importance of building communities for economic, racial, and gender justice. In recent years, a persistent theme of her work has been the social issues associated with incarceration and the generalized criminalization of the communities most affected by poverty and racial discrimination.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium Keynote Memorial Lecture is free and open to the public.
