Maintaining mental health and well-being are increasingly recognized as priorities in individuals’ personal and professional lives. The health crisis caused by the Coronavirus, building racial unrest across the nation, and economic uncertainty have brought the importance of mental health into more conversations. To manage these and other issues present in our daily lives, there are certain behaviors and practices that we can all engage in to reduce our stress and maintain positive mental health.

Jason Edwards is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri. He serves as a mental health therapist at the University’s counseling center.
