The submission form closed on Jan 31, 2018 at 11:59 PM EDT

The Office of Tax Policy Research at the University of Michigan is planning a special conference to celebrate its 30th anniversary, to be held in Ann Arbor on June 22 and 23, 2018. The first day will feature three roundtable discussions by leading people in the field.  The second day will include four sessions of invited research papers.

This Call for Papers pertains to the second day of the conference.  We invite submissions in any of the following areas:  1) new directions in optimal taxation; 2) new empirical methods in tax analysis; 3) new research in tax compliance and enforcement; and, 4) new research on tax issues in developing countries.

We welcome conference submissions that address any of these areas, using empirical or theoretical methods.  Submissions can be either completed but unpublished papers, or extended abstracts (≤ 2 pages) of work in progress that will be completed before the date of the conference.  The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2018 and they should be submitted via the website: http://www.bus.umich.edu/conferences/OTPR-30th-Anniversary.

Selections will be completed and conference invitations extended by March 5, 2018.  Final papers will be due by June 11.  Invitations will include reasonable funding for travel per University of Michigan guidelines (i.e., flying economy class) and hotel accommodations. No publication obligation applies to presented papers.

Even if you are not planning to submit a paper, please Save the Date, because this is an open conference.

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Ceccanese at ceccanes@umich.edu.
