Submission Details

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: 
This document provides an outline for a submission to be considered for the prize, due on August 8, 2025.  Up to four projects will be invited to present their work at the 18th GHSCS Summit to be held in person in Kigali, Rwanda from November 18-20, 2025 The review panel, composed of experts who have experience in global health contexts but are not involved in any of the projects themselves, will review submitted projects to select the finalists. A separate panel of experts will be invited to judge the final presentations to select a winner. Please note that past year finalists may re-apply but will have to include a justification of additional work and outcomes since their last submission. Past winning projects are not eligible for submission. The organization with the winning submission will be recognized with a $2,500 prize and certificates of recognition for the authors; runners up authors will be awarded certificates recognizing their finalist selection.

2025 GHSC SUMMIT THEME: Powering Self-Reliance: Value Chains that Deliver, Sustain, and Thrive. Submissions aligned with the GHSCS2025 theme are encouraged.

GHSCS will fund travel (airfare and hotel) and conference registration fee for one representative for each finalist project to attend the Summit and present the work. Some meals are included with conference registration. Other meals and any other expenses are the responsibility of the presenter. 

PROJECT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS


Submissions should comprise of the following elements:

  • Detailed specification of the intervention or idea that was implemented. Kinds of ideas implemented can be broad and vary from inventory systems, technology, information systems, transport, forecasting, coordination, etc.
  • Specification of metrics used to describe & measure the impact of the project before and after; inclusion of health outcome measures in addition to supply chain measures will be particularly valued.
  • Description of tracking, analysis, decisions made along the way as the project unfolded. Please include intermediate reports that were prepared and how the performance metrics tracked. Documentation of details can be in the form of reports, actual data sheets, delivery manifests, etc.
  • Description of challenges faced and how they were overcome.
  • Outline of a system, if any, of how performance of the project will continue to improve in the future.
  • A summary of key achievements of the project. What were the key factors that enabled success?
  • Discussion of an honest assessment of longer-term sustainability of the project.
  • What can other locations (countries or organizations) learn from your project?
  • List the different organizations and funding entities involved, with specifics. Projects with active participation of in-country organization(s) are highly valued and should be included in the submission.
  • Project author(s) organizational affiliation, emails and contact phone numbers.
  • Length of the main submission: Not to exceed 3000 words + exhibits. Please feel free to attach any documents in the Appendix that will enable us to understand your project.
  • Description of location, organization and project along with the duration of the project.

 All relevant documents should be combined into one pdf for submission. 
Submitting authors should be available for up to two conference calls with the review panel representatives – please provide contact phone numbers and email addresses with your application.
