U.S. Health Care Policy Residential Program DC Details

Although the US has the most market-oriented health care system in the world, government involvement in health care is pervasive. As a result, it is important for students who are interested in a career in health care to understand key health care policy issues as well as the institutional and political context in which these policies are crafted. The goal of this course is to provide an introduction to these issues.

The course is centered on a week long residential in Washington DC, where we will attend presentations by a broad range of experts, representing a diversity of organizational and political perspectives. The speakers will include corporate government relations specialists, Congressional staffers, policy analysts from the White House and various government agencies, think tanks, the media and lobbying and advocacy organizations.
