  Introduction to Microfinance --- Microfinance provides financial services to the poor, including credit, savings, and insurance. The field is undergoing a period of transition as microfinance institutions begin to seek money from capital markets. This course will explore how microfinance institutions are organized, how they raise money and are managed, and emerging trends that are shaping the field, all with an eye towards understanding the interplay between business models and poverty alleviation.
