Morris is most known for being a contemporary Pop artist. Born in 1964 in Pittsburg, Burton did not receive his BFA until 1988, missing the heyday of the Pop movement. However, Morris was inspired by both the classic works of Warhol and Lichtenstein and the woodprints he made as a student. He continued to make large graphic paintings of everyday objects and motifs creating iconographic interpretations from them. Originally in advertising, his background influences him to simplify the message of his pieces. His work is characterized by bold colors surrounded by radiant black outlines.
