After receiving her BFA from Marymount College and her MFA from the University of Chicago, Jeanette went on to develop a style that was traditional, yet original, and instantly recognizable. Sloan creates pieces that depict small renaissance-like still-lives of 20th century household items such as cups, saucer, and pitchers that are so detailed, they appear real. However it is the way she arranges her still lives, that makes them unarguably modern. Using detailed patterns as background and letting her glasses and cups created blocks of color, her pieces are both abstract and photo realistic.
