Born in 1938, Dennis Oppenheim went on to receive a BFA from the School of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California and an MFA from Stanford University. He first gained national acclaim in the 1960’s. Throughout his career he became a pioneer in three major movements; Conceptual Art, Earth Art, and Body Art. His work spans from drawings, to performance art, to large scale sculpture, to small installation work, to being a puppeteer.
