Ross is known for developing positive leaders who make a difference in the world and Christina Gilyutin, MBA ‘08, is no different. Christina, who was recently featured in Forbes, talked about her organization’s new startup accelerator, Social Enterprise for Jobs (SE4Jobs).
Gilyutin is the Director of Leadership Programs at REDF, a nonprofit that supports employment-focused organizations. REDF launched the accelerator, which will support for-profit and nonprofit ventures that seek to create jobs for individuals who face employment barriers such as homelessness, incarceration, and mental illness.
“Often leadership in these enterprises feels quite isolated and doesn’t have a really deep network to lean on,” Gilyutin said in the piece. “So a major component is making sure we’re building strong relationships among members of the group.”
The seven-month long program offers a diverse curriculum including marketing, leadership skills, workforce development, and more. SE4Jobs aims to build camaraderie among these social entrepreneurs while addressing societal issues. The cohort will meet in Baltimore, San Francisco, and New Orleans for three days and work virtually the remainder of the program. They will gain insight and guidance that will in turn, help them provide long-term employment and job readiness for these individuals.
