Club Events:  Summer Picnic Bringing Ross and Broader U-M Clubs Together

  • Timing:  Sunday, July 29 (12 - 4 pm)
  • Location:  Congress Park Shelter Area (850 Josephine St, Denver, CO 80206)
  • Overview:
    • Please join the U-M Club of Denver and the Ross Club of Denver for a summer social picnic at Congress Park!
    • At this family friendly event we will be welcoming new alums to the Denver area and welcoming newly admitted students to the Michigan family
    • The Clubs will serve lunch and host games and activities for all ages

Club Events:  “Ross First Thursdays” Monthly Networking

  • Timing:  Thursday, August 2, 5:30-8 pm
  • Location:  Public School 303 (1959 16th St, Denver, CO 80202)
  • Overview:
    • We successfully conducted our initial two First Thursdays and need your help to keep the momentum going!
    • We have some limited funds to pick up part of the tab, so get there early to take advantage; when the budget is dry, we will shift over to buy-your-own

Denver Business Series (DBS)

  • Board Position Available:
    • Ross is one of ~25 global business schools that make up DBS
    • We are looking for a new board member to represent Ross on DBS beginning in August
    • The board member will vote on important DBS topics, support DBS programming and be our primary connector between DBS and the Ross board

    • Creating Craft Cocktails: A Networking Event at Mythology Distillery
      • Timing:  August 28, 5:30 - 8:00 pm
      • Location:
        • Mythology Distillery - 3622 Tejon Street, Denver
      • Overview:
        • Join the Denver Business Series at our next event -- a casual, yet refined night of networking at the newly opened Mythology Distillery
        • We'll be sampling their latest spirits, tasting light appetizers and enjoying the last days of summer
        • The owners will be providing short tours of the distillery throughout the evening, showcasing how locally grown Colorado rye and barley are transformed into craft whiskey, vodka and other spirits
        • Each ticket includes food and two drinks (beer, wine or a cocktail) or choose a sample flight of their spirits for a tasting
        Price:  $30 (early bird) or $35 (regular)

Honorary Paton Fellow Call for Nominations

  • Help Ross's Paton Accounting Center honor individuals who through their accounting expertise have made significant contributions as business leaders
  • Susan Slavin of the Paton Center has asked us to share the Paton Fellow nomination form with you to nominate deserving recepients
  • The deadline for nominee submission is September 1st, 2018
  • Nominees may be “rising stars” or honored for lifetime contributions, living or posthumously; secondary consideration may also be given to meritorious community or professional service and positive impact on Michigan Ross accounting education
  • For more information about the Michigan Ross Honorary Paton Fellow Program, please visit the Paton website; past recipients include: David Noonan, Carleton Griffin, Gregory Jonas, Robert Anthony, Julie Booth and Robert Neary; the Paton Center encourages you to view their inductee videos online
