9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Overview: Saturday, July 23rd from 9am – 12pm (followed by lunch)

Join us for this exciting opportunity to learn and impact our local environment. We’ll enjoy a beautiful day outside working to keep this rain garden looking great and working hard to support pollinators and fight downstream flooding. Our group will directly participate in rain garden maintenance day at the rain gardens on site at the Friends of the Rouge office in Plymouth. Alumni will learn about the newly installed, world-class, rain garden demonstration site and then support its beauty and functionality with hands on activities.  There will be tasks for all skill levels and ages.

Details: The event will be outside for most of the time. Sunscreen, hats, water, and pants are all strongly recommended. Closed-toed shoes are needed. Tools and gardening gloves will be available. People are welcome to bring their own gloves.

Lunch: The club will be hosting volunteers for a casual lunch following the event at a nearby restaurant.

Minimum age: There is no set minimum age, so long as children are accompanied a parent who can be responsible for directly supervising their children. We expect that children 5 and up will get the most out of this activity.

Cost: The entire event is free.
