Impact Day 2019 Ann Arbor
#14658582
Saturday, July 13, 2019
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This project consists of kneeling, bending, and hauling invasive plant material outdoors, a fun and relatively easy physical activity that makes a big impact on our natural areas! The Arb will supply gloves and any necessary tools. Sturdy closed-toe shoes are required. Long pants, brimmed hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, refillable water bottles, and other comfortable exercise-ready outdoor clothes are strongly recommended. Both adults and youth older than 13 and able to do manual labor are welcome. All youth between ages 13-15 require parental or guardian presence; ages 16-18 must complete a Youth Permission Form. Maximum capacity is 20 volunteers, so RSVP today!

We will meet at the Nichols Arboretum Reader Center in the lower level patio area (directions from the Arb Visitor Guide). For parking, see all options here. UM lots M-28 on Washington Heights and M-29 on Nichols Drive should be free and open to the public on Saturday, but not the specially marked spots. Paid parking is also available at the P2 structure at the UM Hospital.

Please keep a close watch on the weather leading up to our workday. We will plan on working in wet and cold conditions but not in steady rain, high wind, or threat of a storm. We will email you in case of an advanced cancellation.
