Saturday, July 13, 2019
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Earthworks Urban Farm, a full program of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, uses the bulk of its production for the meals served at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in downtown Detroit. We will work in the garden and participate in a variety of activities such as planting seedlings and harvesting produce. Sturdy closed-toe shoes and long pants (that you don't mind getting dirty) are required. Brimmed hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, refillable water bottles, and other comfortable exercise-ready outdoor clothes are strongly recommended. We will have lunch afterwards at the nearby Capuchin Bakery that helps provide housing, training, and self-help programs to those in need. Both adults and children able to do manual labor are welcome. Maximum capacity is 15 volunteers, so RSVP today! If you have questions, please contact Nessa at nessafeller@hotmail.com.

We will meet in the garage area, as there is a gated parking lot for your convenience. Earthworks is located at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen's Meldrum site, between Kercheval and E. Lafayette and between Mt. Elliott and Beaufait on Detroit's near eastside right behind the Capuchin Monastery and St. Bonaventure.

We work rain or shine, please dress accordingly!
