The 2005 National Academy of Management meetings were held in Honolulu, Hawaii August 5-10. The Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, held each year in August, is the largest annual gathering of management scholars in the world. Attended by more than 6,000 people, the meeting provides a forum for sharing research and expertise in all management disciplines through invited and competitive paper sessions, panels, symposia, workshops, distinguished speakers, and special programs for doctoral students.

Here is a report from POS Scholars present at the POS Gathering:

"At the 2005 National Academy of Management Meeting in Hawaii, we had approximately 100 enthusiastic faculty and doctoral students come together for the 2nd annual POS gathering of scholars. With the room decorated in a Hawaiian theme, we celebrated our collective accomplishments over the prior year – including conferences, special issues, new books, teaching innovations and center events. We then broke into pods based on common POS research interests. What energy there was in the room as we created an “intellectual potluck” where we invited each scholar to bring a “dish to share.” We built on the analogy of a potluck to compile the latest POS resources – sharing everything from published papers to teaching tools to provocative research questions to grant RFPs.
