The 2nd Annual Happy Healthy Lawyers: The Business Case for Happiness
Ann Arbor, MI, November 24, 2008
The business world has long viewed the health and happiness of its employees as essential to maintaining a competitive edge. Legal employers, in contrast, have been slow to accept this notion, treating workplace initiatives designed to improve attorney well-being—such as flexible schedules, gym memberships, and intensive mentoring programs—as costly and indulgent. This conference makes “the business case for happiness” in the legal workplace, examining how and why these types of initiatives boost not only attorney well-being, but the bottom line.
San Francisco, November 24-25, 2008
What is happiness? Is it possible? What holds us back from it? How to find happiness in the midst of suffering and sadness? How to forgive? How to bring happiness to others?
Over four days—the two-day conference and two days of pre- and post-conference workshops—40 of the best minds in psychology, philosophy, science, education, business, the arts, medicine, and politics will provide answers to these fundamental questions and explore techniques for achieving happiness and well-being, for ourselves and others.
