Minorities in Business
The Ross School of Business has a long tradition of fostering a diverse educational community, and we offer prospective students a variety of opportunities to experience this through our student organizations, our annual UpClose weekend, and relationships with diversity organizations.
Upclose Weekend - October 10-11th, 2014
UpClose Weekend is hosted by the Office of Admissions in partnership with the Black Business Student Association (BBSA) and the Hispanic Business Student Association (HBSA), UpClose weekend gives students an opportunity to experience the diverse culture at Ross. Historically the UpClose weekend was designed to attract talented African American, Hispanic American, and Native American applicants to the Ross MBA program but we’ve expanded this event to include all prospective students, of any race or ethnicity, who have an interest in improving the representation of minorities in business schools and in management. The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management
The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management is an alliance of leading American business schools and some of our country's top corporations. Their mission is to enhance diversity in business education and leadership by helping to increase the representation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans in their member schools' enrollments and in the ranks of management. The Ross School partners with the Consortium to recruit outstanding students who have shown a commitment to diversity and connect them with students on campus to enhance their experience. It also provides a strong network that students can leverage during their time at Ross and beyond. The Ross Consortium holds several live and virtual events to help underrepresented minority students matriculate through business school and into a successful career. Listen to the online chat with one of our Associate Directors of Admissions: Listen to Recording
The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management's MBA Application Preparation Seminars (MAPS) are intended to provide prospects with "insider" knowledge about The Consortium’s 17 member schools, the application and admissions process, The Consortium Fellowship opportunity and the benefits of The Consortium membership. To learn more about The Consortium, visit The Consortium website to register and attend one of their information sessions.
We encourage all prospective MBA students with a demonstrated commitment to increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in the professions to apply to the Ross MBA Program through The Consortium.
