Intro to Business Course
Beginning with the class of 2017, Ross BBA students will take an introductory course in the Fall of their sophomore year. This course has multiple objectives and will help students see themselves in the context of business and the role of business in society. Students will explore the competing tensions of how business practices and leaders impact organizational performance as well as broader social outcomes across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
Intro to Business also examines personal and professional responsibility. Students will examine the connections between personal values, career goals, ethical decision-making, and moral courage. Students will also reflect upon their responsibilities and contributions to the Ross community and the business profession, and develop personal plans to guide their actions.
This course uses an experiential, action-based learning approach through case studies, lectures discussions, experiential exercises, videos, and guest speakers. The professor will facilitate this learning environment by encouraging critical thinking, analytical reasoning, discourse, and introspection.
