Pre-Business Peer Counselors

The Ross Pre-Business Peer Counselors are available in person and by email to answer questions about the Ross BBA and application process. They are also available to discuss the Minor in Business.  These students are trained and supervised by Ross Admissions staff.  (Please note that they cannot critique application essays or review transcripts.)

I am a Junior BBA emphasizing in Accounting and Finance. Over the past two summers, I have interned with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Citibank in Dubai, applying the Ross education while taking back skills from the corporate world. In my free time I enjoy yoga, kayaking, running, as well as listening to jazz and world music. Having lived in four countries and traveled to more than 10, I understand what it means to be global and can help answer any questions related to international experiences. Of course, I am more than happy to resolve any other concerns that you may have as well. Excited to meet you! Go Blue!

I am a BBA Senior with an emphasis in finance. The summer after my sophomore year I interned at Chrysler Group as a financial analyst, which provided insight to the world of corporate finance. In order to expand my knowledge of the finance world, this past summer I was a financial planner intern at Plante Moran Financial Advisors, which provided a great overview of the private wealth management industry. Through these two internships, I was able to determine that I see myself working as a financial planner for high net-worth individuals once I graduate. In my spare time I am an avid piano player and enjoy basketball and golf. I am truly enjoying my time here at Ross, and if you have any questions about corporate finance, private wealth management or any general Ross questions, feel free to contact me at any time. I am a BBA Senior with emphases in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Spanish. I have been extremely lucky in the fact that I have been able to have internships for the past three summers. After Freshman and Sophomore year, I interned with a mutual fund back home in Milwaukee. This past summer, I worked in the Risk Finance Department at American Express in New York. In my spare time, I love catching up on college and professional sports as well as playing tennis and soccer (I sometimes embarrass myself on the basketball court, too). I cannot say enough about my experience at Michigan and especially at Ross- I have grown up and learned so much about myself and the business world over these past three years. I welcome any questions about Ross in general, internships, extra-curriculars at Michigan, Michigan sports, and the Green Bay Packers. I look forward to meeting you and forever GO BLUE!!

I am a Junior BBA focusing on marketing and strategy with a Minor in Writing. This past summer I interned with Procter and Gamble as a Customer Business Development Intern in Los Angeles, California and also studied abroad in Spain for a month. These experiences have opened my eyes to how much is possible with what we are doing and learning in Ross right now. The skills that we develop in class, both hard and soft, are very necessary in the working world and Iím extremely glad to have had the opportunity to experience them in a real life setting. In my spare time, I love reading, hanging out with friends and family (Iorioís Gelato on campus is amazing), and playing lacrosse! I am a senior BBA focusing in Finance with a second major in International Studies (Political Economies & Development) and a minor in Spanish. Last summer, I was a Summer Analyst at J.P. Morganís Private Bank in Chicago. Iíve also previously held positions with Groupon as a Sales Analytics Intern, General Motors in Chile as a Marketing/Finance Intern, and with Sachs Waldman Professional Corporation as an office assistant. In my spare time I love being outdoors, discovering new music, playing and watching any kind of sport, traveling, and meeting new people. I have really enjoyed my time at Ross exploring its resources, talking with the faculty, and learning alongside some of the brightest students in the nation. I am very happy with my decision to apply to and enroll in Ross and I really enjoy talking about my experiences. I am a senior BBA focusing in both strategy and finance with a minor in applied statistics. Last summer, I was an intern at J.P. Morganís Private Bank in Chicago. Between my sophomore and junior year I worked in Private Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch. In my spare time I love swimming, reading, running, and spending time with my family and friends. My time at Ross has been some of the most rewarding years of my life. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a pre-business counselor last year and cannot wait for another exciting year ahead. Iím a BBA senior with an emphasis in finance and a minor in gender & health. Iím from the northern area of Chicago, and have spent a couple summers interning in the city. This past summer I was in NYC interning as a financial services consultant with Ernst & Young, and will be returning to the company full-time at its Chicago office. Additionally, I interned the summer after my freshman year (Northwestern Mutual, Marketing & Leadership Intern), and after my sophomore year (BP, Integrated Supply & Trading Intern), both in Chicago as well. I enjoy yoga, dance instructing, hiking, and really anything outdoors whenever I have the opportunity. I have had a very positive experience at Ross so far, explored a diverse set of industries, and I look forward to speaking with anyone interested in business discover different possible academic and career paths.

I am a BBA senior concentrating in Corporate Strategy. While I now call Novi, Michigan my home, I have lived in four countries and love to travel. I spent this past summer working in strategy consulting at Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant Intern in Chicago, and plan to return to the firm after graduation. I spent the summer after my sophomore year in Philadelphia interning as a Management Consulting Summer Business Analyst at Accenture. I have loved my time at Ross and at the University of Michigan in general! I became very involved on campus right away and it is the people I met in my classes and through my student organizations who have truly shaped my college career. Ross gave me the skills and resources to pursue my personal and professional goals, a beautiful building to do it in, and lifelong friendships. I am a BBA junior concentrating in Corporate Strategy and Finance with a dual degree in Organizational Studies. This past summer, I interned as a Customer Development Intern at Unilever for the Walmart personal care team in Rogers, AR. Before interning, I participated in a CIBER trip to China that opened my eyes to international business and allowed me engage in action based learning in a different way. In my spare time, I love running, reading, photography, graphic design, and spending time with my friends and family. My time at Ross has been incredibly rewarding, both in the knowledge Iíve gained in class, as well as the lifelong friendships and networks Iíve built through getting involved.
