The Marketing Area at the Ross School of Business congratulates the winners of the

                                              

                                                2011-12 Leo Burnett Award!

 

The award was established by UM alum Leo Burnett, a legendary advertising executive known for creating many

iconic brand characters, from the Jolly Green Giant to the Pillsbury Doughboy. Applicants were judged based on

their prior experience in the marketing and advertising fields, their marketing coursework at Ross, and an essay

describing their future interests in marketing and advertising. Winners also receive a one-time financial award.

 

 

 

 Allison Haney (BBA 2012)

 

Allison's interest in marketing attracted Allison to the BBA program at Michigan.  During her time at Ross, this interest deepened with the completion of multiple marketing classes and while working as the Program Assistant for the Yaffe Center for Persuasive Communication.  After her junior year, Allison applied the knowledge she gained as an intern on the Precision Marketing team at Domino's Pizza.  Upon graduation, Allison will be working at Amazon.

 

 

 

 

 

 Erica Krasity (BBA 2012)

 

An English major her first year at UM, Erica became interested in business after taking a part-time job in marketing at Michigan Radio, a local NPR News Station. This inspired her to apply for Ross, where she has since taken a variety of marketing electives, worked as a grader, and assisted with building the Yaffe Center Digital Media Resources Hub. While continuing to work at Michigan Radio part-time during school, she has spent her summers gaining digital marketing experience.  In 2010, Erica interned at a boutique agency in Cape Town, South Africa, and, in 2011, she worked at nationally-renowned Resource Interactive in Columbus, OH.

 

 

   

Dave Foldes (MBA 2012)

Prior to coming to Ross, Dave worked in consulting for ZS Associates and online marketing for Orbitz Worldwide. While at Ross, Dave’s focus shifted to brand management. As a result, Dave took several marketing electives and was elected as the Co-President of the MBA Marketing Club. During his summer internship at PepsiCo-QTG, Dave worked on the Quaker Chewy brand. Upon graduation, Dave will be returning to Chicago to work for PepsiCo.

 

 

  

Chris Loverme (MBA 2012)

 

Prior to attending Ross, Chris worked in advertising as a media planner at MEC and Initiative.  He continued to pursue his interest in marketing at Michigan where he took several marketing electives and was an active member of the Ross Marketing Club.  Chris also interned in brand management at Mars Chocolate and will return there full-time after graduating.

 Andrew Parker (BBA 2011)

 

Andrew was exposed to various facets of marketing during his stay at Ross. In addition to taking several marketing electives, his internship experience spanned several areas of Marketing. In his sophomore year, he did his summer internship at Ipipeline Inc., a software company promoting activation of a newly developed platform. The following summer, he did his internship at Leo Burnett USA. Advertising has always been his passion. It is only fitting that he now works full-time as an Assistant Account Executive at Leo Burnett USA.

 

 

 

 

 Melanie Wicander (BBA 2011)

 

Upon completion of her BBA degree, Melanie has taken up a position at Procter and Gamble.  She received her full time offer after a successful summer internship at P&G the previous year. Prior to that, Melanie had done a summer internship under a brand planner at Tribal DDB.  In addition, she also served as a volunteer at the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing.  

   

Monica Hritz (MBA 2011)

Prior to coming to Ross, Monica worked in corporate finance at General Mills.  Upon arriving at Ross, her interest turned towards marketing.  As a result, she took several marketing electives and also took an active part in the Ross Marketing Club. During her summer internship, she worked at the Clairol division of P&G. Upon graduation, Monica has gone back to General Mills, but this time in a marketing function.

  

Courtney Tomljanovic (MBA 2011)

 

Courtney’s career in marketing began within finance at a hedge fund where she worked prior to coming to Ross. During her stay at Ross, Courtney took several marketing classes to hone her marketing skills. Her internship at Dawn Foods Inc. during the summer provided the necessary practical exposure. Courtney was also an active member of the Ross Marketing Club during her stay at Ross.
