Get the help you need for your presentations and reports, or get a bit more knowledge to help enhance your resume. After all, these workshops are free! The Fall 2008 schedule will be posted in August.  Keep an eye on the Training page to reserve your space when the workshops are announced, and be sure to bookmark this page, since workshops are scheduled every semester.

Can't fit software training into your busy schedule? Check out our online workshops!

We know how busy all our students are.  But we also know how invaluable it is to have the software skills needed to succeed at Ross and in the future..  Therefore, our Office 2003 workshops are available online.  Office 2007 workshops are on the way.

Teamwork Tools and Resources created for you at Ross!

From class work to the MAP program, our emphasis on Action Based Learning means lots of teamwork. We are constantly working to take the challenge out of working collaboratively.

Office Communicator 2007 with Live Meeting
With Office Communicator 2007, you can do more than IM.  Share files, brainstorm with whiteboards and conduct audio/video conferences with VoIP technology.  Live Meeting works directly with Microsoft Office to make scheduling your meeting a breeze!

TeamSpot
TeamSpot is a new collaborative technology from Tidebreak allowing team members to instantly work together on documents by actually linking their computers.  Send documents instantly to your team's computers, or work together on the TeamSpot plasma monitor.  The TeamSpot Collaboration Rooms are located in the Kresge Library in K2341 through K2346. These rooms can be reserved through the Student Room Reservation system.

Group Rooms with Plasma Screens
Our group study rooms are equiped with plasma monitors so you can preview and practice your presentations.

Equipment Loans and Room Reservations
Most students know they can reserve a group study room online.  But did you know you can now reserve equipment online?  Borrow a digital video camera, projector, conference phone or more.  Simply go to the Equipment Reservation System.

New Wireless System in Kresge

As was previously announced, we are evaluating a new wireless system within Kresge.  When you are in Kresge, you will now select ROSS WIRELESS – KRESGE from the list of available networks.  No other configuration changes are necessary.  Elsewhere in the building, ROSS WIRELESS will continue to provide wireless service just as it has been.

Looking towards the future, you will also see “ROSS WIRELESS – Gen2 Eval” listed as an available network.  This is the network that will provide greater reliability and significantly faster speeds.  To use this network, you will need to configure your laptop.  For full details and instructions, visit our Wireless Network page.

If you have any problems with your wireless connection, please visit Laptop Support in the Kresge Library.  We appreciate your patience as we evaluate this system for use in the new building.

MBAs - your mail resides on an Exchange Server

In connection with Outlook or Entourage, an Exchange Server allows you to work closely with your teammates.  Share contacts and view availability to schedule meetings.  Learn how to connect to the server and how to use Outlook from the Email page.

Do you use a Blackberry or Gmail?

We now have instructions for you to receive email on your Blackberry device.  You can also access your ITCS account through your Gmail account.  Visit the Email page for complete details on the ITCS Exchange service for our daytime MBA students.

Wireless Network

Get the most out of our Wireless Network - Show wireless signal strength by building and floor.  While not perfect, this map gives a good sense of the number of users connected to your access point and the relative signal strength.  If too slow in one area, you should consider moving to another location around the school.
