Why do I have 2 passwords? How do I change them?
|
|
The University of Michigan assigns all faculty, staff and students a uniqname
and Kerberos password for campus-wide services. This is used for web site
logins (including iMpact), modem dial-in and student services. To change your Kerberos password go to
https://weblogin.umich.edu/, login,
click on the link to change your Kerberos password, and follow the prompts.
For faculty, staff and PhD students, the Business School uses your campus
uniqname to create a network ID on the Business School's Microsoft network.
This password is different because it is a separate system with a separate set
of services. This Business School password is used for your office
computer, lab and classroom computers when logging into the BUS domain for
folder and file access on the Business School network, and to access
Outlook-Exchange e-mail and webmail. To change your Business School
password on your office computer, hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete and click on Change password,
or click on the Change Password icon in Webmail.
Tip: You can set both passwords to be the same so
your login to different services is seamless. If you desire this,
set your kerberos password first as it is more restrictive in what is allowed,
then set your Business School password to match.

How do I setup an Outlook
profile?
|
|
To access your Exchange Mailbox using Outlook, you need a
profile set up on your computer that points to your mailbox name and mail
server. See Creating A Profile instructions
for an overview and step by step instructions.
Alternatively, you can use Webmail without any special setup or profile
required at https://webmail.bus.umich.edu.

How do I find the modem dial-in number
for another location?
|
|
For locations throughout the state of Michigan, as well as for New York City, Washington D.C.
and Windsor, Ontario Canada there are free local access numbers through Michnet.
For all other locations, you need to be set up for national and international service,
which you must arrange in advance for account funding through the ITCS accounts
office.
A complete list of dial in numbers is located at these
