Uniqname is pronounced
"unique name" and is your personal identifier that you will use to log
into UM online services.

A uniqname and password are assigned to
each new University of Michigan student.

You will keep your uniqname for life, so
choose it wisely. It will be part of your lifetime email address
which uses
the format uniqname@umich.edu.
You need a uniqname and password to use
computing resources at the University of Michigan. Services include
access to iMpact and other secure university web sites, access to your
email account, research databases, and more.
You will need it immediately to do the following:

Upload your photo to iMpact's Photobook

Create face cards in iMpact for your
professors

Register and/or adjust your course
schedule in Wolverine Access beginning in August

Take the online writing assessment in
August.

Already have a Uniqname?
Even if you already have a uniqname from the University of Michigan, you
will still need to complete this process in order to re-activate your
existing uniqname student services.
Please complete the process following the instructions above with the
link below. Use your one time ID to activate your services.
You will not be able to create a new uniqname. In the process, the
system will identify your existing uniqname. You will have an
opportunity to change your password.
