| The University of Michigan
gives each current student, faculty and staff member an easy to use e-mail
address - your uniqname@umich.edu.
This address must be forwarded to an
active account. It can be forwarded to the account(s) of your choice. Register your
forwarding address in your entry in the
Campus Online Directory.
While you are a student, you have a
2GB mailbox on an ITCS mail server. The full address to
this mailbox is your uniqname@mail.umich.edu. By default, your
uniqname@umich.edu
mail is
directed to this account.
You can access your campus mailbox
through the Web, by setting up e-mail software such as
Outlook, or by forwarding this mail to another account.

Using your Exchange Email
Account |

students use email accounts on an
Exchange server, allowing the full range of collaboration and
information sharing tools available in Outlook and Entourage. Email can
be accessed via the web at
https://exchange.umich.edu or you can connect Outlook or
Entourage to your Exchange account:

Your uniqname@umich.edu address is yours to keep for
life. Once you graduate you will want to forward it to your
current e-mail account. For students, your umich mail address is initially set up to deliver to your campus mailbox.
Your uniqname@umich.edu can be
forwarded to any mail account(s) of your
choice in your Online Directory Entry at
http://directory.umich.edu. Search for your uniqname entry, click on
Bind to login, then click on the Modify button and enter your
address in the E-Mail Forwarding field. You can enter one

Please note only new incoming mail
sent after the time that you entered and saved your forwarding
address will be forwarded .

Using iMpact's Messaging
Service |

Use the Student
Directory in iMpact
to message
groups of students (text only, no attachments). Message
content should be professionally related and relevant to the
majority of recipients - please use the Classified Ads for personal
content.

iMpact Mail Delivery
Be sure your correct e-mail address
is registered in your iMpact Personal Profile.
We recommend registering your uniqname@umich.edu address.

| Use Mulberry on a Lab computer.
A special version of Mulberry installed in the labs automatically
configures to accesses your UM Mailbox based on your login.
This lab version offers IMAP access which allows you to work directly on the mail server - mail
is not downloaded to the hard drive of the computer as in POP access.
Your uniqname@umich.edu address is
initially forwarded to your central campus ITCS mailbox.
