Printing and Scanning
How many pages can I print each semester?
ITCS allows students to print up to 400
black and white pages per semester at no charge under the
Basic Computing Package - this
allocation is for printing at other computing labs on campus, which
use a different metering system.
The Ross School of Business provides
Ross students with $200 worth of printing per academic year -
printing charges are tracked through your MCard. Printing at
Ross is charged at $0.10 per black/white page and $0.50 per color
page (please note that 2-sided printing will still equal two pages).
Additional funding can be added to your account on the
Entrée
Plus website
or at their office in the Student Activities Building.
On average, each student prints
approximately 800-1000 pages per semester. Our printing
allocation is meant to be generous to accommodate printing mishaps,
such as poor toner, typos, paper jams, etc. Therefore, credits
are not given. Your remaining balance will not rollover into
the next academic year, and a refund of unused printing will not be
issued. However, this does not mean that students should try
to use their whole allotment - please try to "print green".

Printing page to learn more.
How can I check my printing balance and add funds?
You can check your Business School
printing balance by simply swiping your MCard at any lab printer.
You can also check your balance and add funds by visiting the
Entrée
Plus webpage or visiting their office in the
Student Activities Building.
You can check your
ITCS account balances, including
printing, through a link to the Accounts Office on the
Weblogin page.
What are the charges for printing?
Black and White printing is charged at
$0.10 per page and color
printing is charged at $0.50 per page. Please note that
printing is charged per page, not per sheet. Therefore,
printing double-sided will not result in a cost saving, but will
help with conservation.
Can I print in color?
Color printers are available in the
computing labs in the basement of the Kresge Building. Swipe
your MCard to print from these printers. The cost for color
printing is $0.50 per page from your printing allocation.
How do I print double or single sided?
Black and white printers are set to
print double-sided automatically. The color printers are set
to print single-sided. You can change this setting in the
Printing Preferences when you send your print job.
How can I print from my laptop?
In order to print using your laptop,
you will need to be connected to our network and have the current
Xerox drivers installed.
Visit our
Laptop Support team in the Kresge
Library if you have
difficulties installing the software.
Are there scanners that I can use?
Flatbed scanners are available for use
in the computing labs in the basement of the Kresge Building.
The Xerox printers are capable of scanning a document as a pdf file
that is saved to the network. You can access the network
folder using Internet Explorer at
ftp://allfiles.bus.umich.edu/Scan and logging in with the
username StudentFtp and the current
student password.
Instructions for printing and
scanning are posted at each
printer.
