San Francisco- base Evri Kwong deals with both political and social issues in his art, including various types of violence. He uses a combination of realistic painting and cartoon like drawing to create a commentary on these concerns. He often plays on the duality between the idealized America, and America as it actual is. His pieces vary from simple prints that are poignant one liners, to large narratives that tell an important story.
Kwong’s works are included in many private and public collections in the U.S. and abroad. His works have recently been acquired by the Lannan Foundation, and a catalogue of his paintings, drawings, and monoprints, Just Pretend Everything is OK, was also recently published. Evri Kwong lives and works in San Francisco, CA.

Evri Kwong’s paintings, drawings, and prints explore the intersection of form, color, social commentary, conflict, and representation. Both prints in the collection engage the global predicament of oil.
