Reunion 2008 Schedule


Below is the schedule of events from Reunion 2008. Check back early in 2009 for a schedule for Reunion 2009, September 25-26!


The information given below is subject to change.  Schedules and location information will be sent to participants with their registration confirmation; please print and save your confirmation message. Reunion events are subject to room capacity limitations. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Career Check-Up: "Is Your Career Trajectory Meeting Your Goals?"

Whether you want to grow in your current functional area or want to undertake a bold career switch, come learn how to do the necessary groundwork of self assessment to get yourself focused on a career goal. Presenters, from the Ross School Office of Career Development, will also discuss effective networking techniques and job search resources with the goal of alumni leaving the session with action steps to be taken. Business-casual attire suggested.

Speaker: Joe Dumars, President of Basketball Operations, Detroit Pistons

You won’t want to miss a unique opportunity to hear one of our nation’s most respected athletes and businessmen former Detroit Pistons great and current President of Basketball Operations, Joe Dumars share his thoughts on leadership in business, athletics, and life in a lecture entitled "Success and Fear." Business-casual attire suggested.

"Meet the Alumni" Alumni-Student Networking Open House

Alumni will share their career advice and business insights with current students while also discussing possible career and internship opportunities in their companies. This is a great way for alumni to recruit potential employees and learn what it’s like to be a student at the Ross School today. The school will match students with participating alumni in their career industry of interest. Business-casual attire suggested.

Enjoy a special opportunity for Reunion participants to take a brief look inside the new Ross School of Business building, scheduled to open in November. The ongoing construction schedule does not permit a full tour, but you will be able see an overview of the facility.

Class of 1958 and Emeritus Reunion Dinner

All alumni who graduated from the Ross School of Business 50 or more years ago and all Emeritus (retired) faculty of the Ross School and their guests are invited to join us as we commemorate the 50-Year Reunion of the Class of 1958. After a cocktail reception, a welcome by the Dean, class photo, and a served dinner, we will initiate the Class of 1958 into the Emeritus community with a special program. Evening attire (jacket or suit and tie for men) recommended. "Combined Class Reunion" Event for the Classes of 1983 and 1988

Celebrate your Reunion with a strolling supper, remarks by Dean Dolan, live music, and a performance by the Friars, an ensemble of the U-M Men’s Glee Club. Relive your Michigan memories with classmates and faculty members, and socialize and network. Business attire suggested.

Come join your classmates in the popular Irish pub’s banquet room, which is reserved just for your class. The Guinness will be flowing and the buffet will be delicious as you socialize together at Conor’s! Casual attire suggested.

Oosterbaan Fieldhouse, west of/behind Schembechler Hall (which is located at 1000 S. State Street), south of Yost Ice Arena and Hoover Street (Directions) (Map)

Enjoy traditional tailgate fare with a variety of beverages while watching the Michigan spirits rise! There will be plenty of kid-friendly activities and an appearance by the Michigan Alumni Marching Band. Held inside Oosterbaan Fieldhouse, the longtime practice field for the Michigan Wolverines, which is a short walk to the football stadium. (Those who need assistance with transportation from the Ross Tailgate Party to the stadium should contact the Reunion Team by September 19 at 734.763.5775 or reunionteam@umich.edu.) Casual, maize-and-blue attire suggested. The Ross Tailgate Party ends 1 hour prior to kick-off, to allow time for attendees to travel to the stadium and get in line for their seats. Football tickets purchased through the Ross Reunion must be picked up before the end of the Tailgate Party, one hour prior to kick-off.

Football tickets are sold in conjunction with Tailgate Party tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket purchase limited to 2 tickets per alumnus/alumna. Seats are required for everyone, including babies. We reserve the right to provide seats in other areas of the stadium to late registrants, should the seats in our main block sell out. Your tickets must be picked up at the Tailgate Party. For your protection, we will not mail out Reunion football tickets nor allow pick-up of tickets by a third party. Note that only small purses and select items are allowed into the stadium.

Reunite with fellow grads from your frat, sorority, or dorm! "Michigan Spirit" attire (post-game) recommended.
