James P. Walsh holds degrees from SUNY-Albany, Columbia, Chicago and Northwestern. He spent eight years at Dartmouth before joining the Michigan faculty in 1991. As the Gerald and Esther Carey Professor of Management in the Ross School of Business, he is exploring questions about the purpose of the firm and its accountability to society. Jim has served Associate Editor-in-Chief of Organization Science and Consulting Editor of the Academy of Management Review.
He co-edits a scholarly book series and serves on the board of the Strategic Management Journal. Previously elected to leadership roles in both the Academy of Management and INFORMS, Jim is a Fellow of the Academy of Management.
