News & Media Relations
Reporters
Our media relations officer cultivates relationships across all media channels and responds to more than 500 inquiries annually from reporters at the local, state, national and international levels. Services include news releases, referrals to faculty experts and coordination of interviews and broadcasts in conjunction with school events. The school operates a studio with satellite uplink capability for television broadcasts and an ISDN line for radio broadcasts.
Faculty Research & Promotion
The Office of Marketing Communications promotes faculty through news
releases, op-eds and stories across all media channels: print, radio, television,
Web and e-mails. Our media relations officer welcomes story ideas from faculty.
We promote faculty research papers, newly published books, scholarly awards, achievements, citations and conference participation. In addition to external sources, these items are showcased in the Faculty & Research and News/Events sections of the Ross Web site. Major stories also are carried in Dividend magazine. Your Colleagues in the News, an e-newsletter to members of the Ross community, highlights articles about faculty, students and the school from local, state, national and international publications.

Dividend Magazine / Publications & Editorial Assistance
Dividend, the Ross School of Business alumni magazine, publishes twice a year, spring and fall, and is mailed to 45,000 alumni and friends of the school. For more than three decades, Dividend has extended the value of a Ross School education by informing readers of business trends, faculty research, school initiatives and alumni activities. Dividend equips alumni with information about the school so they can serve as ambassadors to the wider community. Dividend regularly features faculty research and new books, profiles of alumni, class notes and alumni club activities.
Current and archived issues of Dividend are available online.
Our marketing communications team also provides editorial assistance for Ross
School communications and publications.

Branding and Graphic Identity
Strategic Brand Leadership
Strategic positioning is a combination of core values, key messages, our positioning statement and a graphic identity system. Our goal is to achieve consistency across all units and programs to raise the visibility and build the reputation of the school. To this end we:
- Develop standards for messaging and graphic design.
- Work with units to integrate school-wide messages so they resonate with
target audiences.
- Build a foundation of brand ambassadors within the school.
- Maintain a Strategic
Positioning Toolkit for faculty, staff and students.
Business Products
The school has mandated a design for letterhead, envelopes and
business cards. All academic and administrative departments should place stationery
orders with University of Michigan Business Services. You may order from the
Online Catalog or use a standard
Requisition Form. Custom stationery and other products should be discussed with
the Office of Marketing Communications prior to printing.
