C. K. Prahalad Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Environmental organization names him "faculty pioneer."
ANN ARBOR, Mich.—Professor C. K. Prahalad received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Beyond Grey Pinstripes, a biennial survey and ranking of business schools and faculty that lead the way in integrating social and environmental issues into business education.
Prahalad, the Paul and Ruth McCracken Distinguished University Professor of Corporate Strategy, is a globally recognized business consultant whose client list includes AT&T, Cargill, Citicorp, Oracle, TRW and Unilever. His research focuses chiefly on next practices, corporate strategy and the role of top management in diversified multinational corporations. His current work addresses a complex emerging market, the world's poor and the innovative business models that will help end world poverty.
Not only is his work prompting companies to rethink their global strategies, it is changing global development policy at international institutions like the State Department, United Nations and World Economic Forum.
The Ross School also was ranked No. 7 by the organization for its contributions to social and environmental stewardship.
The Beyond Grey Pinstripes survey is conducted by the Aspen Institute which fosters leadership and open-minded dialogue through seminars, policy programs, conferences and leadership development initiatives, and the World Resources Institute, an environmental think-tank that goes beyond research to find practical ways to protect the earth and improve people's lives.
