EVENT: Michigan Business Women Leadership Conference is Sept. 30

Top female business executives will share their success stories and discuss challenges facing today's businesswomen.

DATE: 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 30

EVENT: The 13th annual Women in Leadership Conference, "We Can Do It! Driving Change in Business," will bring together female leaders from around the country to discuss issues relevant to today's women in business. The daylong conference will include panel discussions with prominent women leaders on topics such as corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship, risk-taking, international business, consulting and finance, and work-life balance.

Two keynote speakers also will be featured: Mitzi Short, vice president of multicultural marketing and strategic initiatives at Pepsi-Cola North America, will speak at 9 a.m. about leadership and creating change; and Teresa Ressel, chief operating officer with UBS Investment Bank North America, will give closing remarks at 1:30 p.m.

"This year's theme of stepping into the driver's seat of your career features women who are strong, driven, and inspirational," said Danielle Tomassini, conference co-chair and second-year MBA student at. "Many of these women have created their own career paths and have helped mold corporate structures and cultures to what they are today, making the possibility for success in my generation even more possible. We want current businesswomen and MBA students to hear these first-hand stories from executive women and feel empowered, driving them to succeed in their own careers."
