Professor David Brophy Receives Award for Shaping Local Technology Community
Ann Arbor IT Zone recognizes him for bringing national attention to Washtenaw County.
ANN ARBOR, Mich.—David Brophy, professor of finance and director of the Office for the Study of Private Equity Finance, received one of five "Z" awards from the Ann Arbor IT Zone.
Brophy won the IllumiNation Award for bringing the national spotlight to Washtenaw County's technology community.
Brophy founded and directs the Michigan Growth Capital Symposium and focuses his research on pricing initial public offerings of common stock and characteristics of the venture capital market. He is also instructor for Financing Technological Entrepreneurship, a practicum providing MBA students and undergrads with skills to avoid common pitfalls and successfully navigate the perilous path from the laboratory to the marketplace.
The IT Zone is a nonprofit networking business association focused on Washtenaw County. Its mission is to promote the growth of the IT industry by bringing together entrepreneurs, emerging and established companies, business service providers, and university and community resources.
