Fannie Mae Foundation CEO Named Commencement Speaker
More than 900 will graduate April 30 at Crisler Arena ceremony.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. Stacey Davis Stewart, MBA '87, will deliver the main address at spring commencement exercises honoring the more than 900 graduates of the class of 2004 at the University of Michigan Business School. The event will take place at 6 p.m. April 30 at Crisler Arena.
Stewart, president and chief executive officer of the Fannie Mae Foundation since 1999, leads a team of more than 100 professionals who help make home ownership a reality for millions of American families.
Stewart joined the Fannie Mae Foundation in 1992 as director of regional public affairs in the southeastern region, a position she held until 1995. Subsequently, Stewart served as vice president of housing and community development at the foundation's regional office in Atlanta until assuming the CEO title. Under her direction, the Fannie Mae Foundation has become one of the largest private foundations in the country.
Stewart attended the Michigan Business School on a full fellowship, earning her MBA with a concentration in finance. She also served as president of the Black Business Students Association.
