Nielsen COO Kicks Off Advanced Leadership Program at U-M
Custom leadership program designed to inject innovation and creativity in company.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Nielsen and the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business have partnered to offer a new, cutting-edge leadership development program for Nielsen executives, running from June 20 - June 27. Mitchell Habib Nielsen’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), visited the campus on June 20 to kick off the event.
The Advanced Leadership Program pilot will employ an industry leading, custom training approach that combines diverse perspectives from esteemed Ross School faculty, industry experts, and business leaders to enable Nielsen’s leaders of tomorrow to foster a culture of innovation and creativity for the company’s employees in 100 countries across the globe.
"Nielsen has a rich history of innovation spanning nearly 90 years; we pioneered the first market share measurement, the first TV ratings and the first 'three-screen' measurement of television, online and mobile ad campaigns," said Habib. "In order to continue that success over the next 90 years, we are building internal leadership that injects innovation into everything we do, delivering critical and valuable information for our clients as the way consumers watch and buy evolves at breakneck speed."
Trainers will supplement classroom-style learning with hands on case studies, executive coaching, and opportunities to tackle two of the business' major upcoming projects. ALP graduates will be equipped to lead innovation at Nielsen, a critical competency in today’s business success stories.
"By combining the expertise of two of the world’s premier learning organizations, we’re creating a leadership program unlike any other," said Kim Cameron, Associate Dean of the Ross School of Business. "The University of Michigan helped create the field of leadership research over 50 years ago and still leads the world in positive leadership development. We are honored to partner with Nielsen in this important collaboration."
