Panel Will Discuss Restoring America's Image Abroad

ANN ARBOR, Mich.---Robin Wright, global affairs correspondent for the Los Angeles Times, will lead a panel discussion on ¿Restoring America¿s Image Abroad¿ 10:30 a.m.-noon Oct. 17 at East Hall, Room 4448. The event is free to the public.
Participants will address U.S. government efforts at public diplomacy and the challenges the Bush administration faces in communicating U.S. foreign policy to ¿skeptical¿ audiences on issues such as the Middle East, military operations and the peace process.
Panelists will include public opinion experts, scholars, journalists and policy-makers from the U.S. Department of State. The panel is part of a two-day conference, the William K. Fung Multidisciplinary Workshop on ¿Communicating with Skeptical Audiences---Challenges and Solutions.¿
The event is sponsored by the University of Michigan Yaffe Center for Persuasive Communication (a joint initiative of the Michigan Business School and the School of Art and Design), the International Institute and William Davidson Institute.
