Ross professors note history of financial bailouts, call for more steps to prevent more crises.
Here we go again. So say Ross Professors Sreedhar T. Bharath and Amiyatosh Purnanandam in a commentary published by Reuters. They note that the U.S. has a long history of providing financial bailouts. These are often necessary to prevent Wall Street’s problems from becoming Main Street’s crisis. But given the size and scope of the current bailout proposal, now is a good time to look at ways to prevent the next crisis.
