Positive Links
Positive Links is a monthly speaker series that brings together scholars and practitioners to learn and discuss new POS research. Professors Bob Quinn and Kim Cameron made a joint presentation on creating interventions that result in more positive organizing (Positive Organizational Scholarship for Practitioners: Tools for Creating Positive Organizations). They shared insights from their research and consulting efforts and reviewed alternative approaches to organizing, sharing a five-step, integrative model. They also reviewed the experiences of extremely positive organizations. Attendees participated in a lively learning exercise on positive intervention.

At its core, Positive Organizational Scholarship investigates “positive deviance,” or the ways in which organizations and their members flourish and prosper in extraordinary ways. Indeed, the discipline’s name embodies the core values of the movement. “Positive” addresses the discipline’s affirmative bias. “Organizational” focuses on the processes and conditions that occur in organizational contexts. “Scholarship” reflects the rigor, theory, scientific procedures and precise definition in which the approach is grounded.
