Innovative Teaching "Jumpstarts" MBA Class Projects to Serve Community

In January, the CIS 724 ICT and Social Enterprise class brought in Dr. Jeff DeGraff to lead a special "Jumpstart" process to spark innovative ideas and explore new business practices for non-profits and government organizations. Working in teams with business leaders from the community, the MBA students spend a day grappling with questions ranging from how to improve non-profit organizational efficiency to Michigan's "Cool Cities" initiative. In an interview, Dr. DeGraff discusses the goals and processes of a Jumpstart, and the benefit of using Jumpstarts to change an organization.
