Albert Fishlow (Professor of International Affairs, Columbia University), Horacio Forjaz (Executive Vice President of Communications, Embraer) and Nelson Silva (Global Commercial Director, CVRD) discuss Brazil’s changing role in the global arena as its businesses have become more competitive and invest outside of its borders. Moreover, President Luis Ignacio Da Silva (Lula) is taking a leading role in the international discussions of free trade within the FTAA and the WTO. What challenges does Brazil face in becoming the next emerging market power? How well is it addressing these challenges?

Professor Katherine Terrell, organizer of the WDI Latin American Speaker Series, was the moderator for this event. The Series typically consists of two speakers in the Fall term and two speakers in the Winter term.
