Business Source Premier Journal Alerts

Follow the instructions below to set up your MyEBSCOhost account and create Journal Alerts. If you need further assistance, please contact Carolyn Adams at adamsc@umich.edu.

Step One: Sign In

To begin, select the database Business Source Premier Alumni Edition.

  • Click on Sign in to MyEBSCOhost.



  • If you have already created a MyEBSCOhost account, simply enter your username and password and click Login.

  • To create an account, click I'm a new user.

  • Enter your name and email address and create a username and password.

  • Step Two: Create a Journal Alert

  • Click on Publications in the top menu bar and enter the Journal title in the text box labeled Browse Publications (NOT the box labeled Find). Click Browse.



  • Click on the journal title to browse the publication.

  • Click the Journal Alert link to the right of Search within this publication to add this journal to your email alerts list.

  • You will be asked to define the parameters of your email alert. You can select how long the alert will run, the email address or addresses the alert will be sent to, the subject line of the alert email, and the alert format (Plain Text or HTML).

  • Uncheck the box next to limit EBSCOhost access to only the articles sent, or you will not be able to search the database after clicking on an article title in your alert email. Click Save.



  • You will know that your alert has been set up successfully when you receive a confirmation email (this should happen almost immediately) and a red bar with the text Journal Alert set appear on the browse publication screen. In addition, the My Folder option will now display the message My folder has items.



  • To edit your journal alerts, click on My folder, Journal Alerts and Edit Alert.



  • Retrieving Your Alerts From Home

    To read the articles in your journal alert email, go to Business Source Premier Alumni Edition and search for the publication to browse by date to the latest articles.
