  RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION

RESEARCH GRANT ADMINISTRATION
The Research Administration office ensures timely, accurate proposal submissions, develops budgets, and obtains institutional signatures, making certain that research proposals meet sponsor, University, and Ross School guidelines. The research manager, Sally Sivrais, also partners with Ross faculty and sponsors in post-award administration by providing compliance oversight and allocating awarded funds in accordance with internal and external policies.

RESEARCH COMPLIANCE ASSISTANCE
Research at Ross is subject to the approval of the University of Michigan's Health Sciences and Behavioral Sciences Institutional Review Board (IRB-HSBS). Research Administration office staff can assist researchers in determining whether their studies qualify for an expedited IRB review or exemption. Ross researchers may also consult with staff for guidance in submitting IRB applications through eResearch and completing the necessary research compliance training through the Program for Education and Evaluation in Responsible Research and Scholarship (PEERRS).

RESEARCH TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY
Numerous research tools are supported at Ross through the Research Administration office, Research Computing, and Kresge Library. The Research Administration office provides user support and training for researchers, students, and staff who wish to conduct online surveys and experiments. Research Computing is a faculty and PhD student resource for data retrieval, statistical consultation, computer account administration, and research software support. Kresge Library offers an extensive selection of research databases and librarians dedicated to each of Ross's nine academic units.

BEHAVIORAL LAB
The Ross Behavioral Lab accommodates a variety of innovative human behavior experiments in areas such as marketing and decision science, strategy, teamwork, and leadership. Within the lab, Ross researchers conduct traditional computer and paper-based experiments, as well as focus groups and taste test studies. Behavioral Lab facilities include an observation and recording room, making it an ideal environment for research on interpersonal communication or small group dynamics.

RESEARCH RECRUITMENT & SUBJECT INCENTIVES
Researchers at Ross can recruit both unpaid and paid research participants. Faculty and PhD students in the areas of Marketing and Management & Organizations have access to student participants in unpaid subject pools during fall and winter terms. Available year round to all Ross researchers, is a paid subject pool including University students, staff, and community members. Contact Rose Juhasz for authorization to post research studies to the online paid subject pool. Contact Sally Sivrais for consultation regarding subject incentive needs and using HSIP, the recently streamlined University human subject incentive program.

ACADEMIC EVENT MANAGEMENT
Many academic events fostering Ross faculty research interests are organized and supported internally every year at Ross. The new Ross facility provides an excellent venue for hosting events ranging from one-time special speakers to multi-day conferences. Strategically stacked classrooms, the Colloquium space overlooking Ann Arbor, and Blau Auditorium, combined with the Winter Garden create the perfect setting for exchanging ideas and creating community within any group. If you are interested in hosting a Ross academic event, please email rsbacadevents@umich.edu for an initial consultation regarding setup and support.
