Accounting

Michigan's Department of Accounting is one of the leading in the country. Our faculty has an international reputation for path-breaking research in areas such as corporate financial reporting and disclosure practices, accounting-based valuation, compensation, and management performance and control systems. We leverage this research strength to offer leading-edge classes in the core areas of financial and managerial accounting, as well as some of the most popular elective classes in the Ross School of Business.

Senior Faculty
The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan has tenure-track positions available in Accounting starting in the 2010 academic year.  Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of accounting will be considered.  Faculty positions at all ranks are available.  The application should include a research paper, which may be based on the candidate's dissertation, evidence of teaching experience (if any), and a curriculum vitae that includes three references.
 
A qualified senior faculty candidate must have a Ph.D and a proven record of high quality research, as evidenced by publication in the top accounting journals.  A qualified candidate will also have a demonstrated record of teaching competence and evidence of the ability and willingness to contribute to school and professional service activities.

A qualified junior faculty candidate must have a Ph.D or be in the final stages of their dissertation.  A qualified candidate must also demnostrate the ability and interest to conduct high-quality, scholarly research as well as a high level of teaching competence.
