Priscilla S. Rogers

Associate Professor of Business Communication

PHD, University Of Michigan
M.A., Western Michigan University
B.S., Western Michigan University

Pris Rogers studies writing and speaking as a management activity, especially interpersonal and cross-cultural communication effectiveness involving issues of efficiency, politeness, bad news, and, most recently, solidarity. Fieldwork has led her to propose tools for improving subordinate reporting of bad news to superiors and CEO presentations of poor earnings announcements, for example. At present, Pris is developing a conceptual framework to help individuals observe and manage writing and speaking as the “textual life of an organization,” a framework complementing the notion of organizational culture. One of her current field projects examines call center agents’ responses to customers in a financial service MNC and proposes methods for communicating solidarity with customers.

Pris teaches Communication for the Global Manager and Communication Management, a case-based class focusing on recurring management activities. She is one of the three faculty members overseeing the Ross’s Global MBA Multidisciplinary Action Projects.
