Pris Rogers studies writing and speaking as management activities to get work done through people. Issues of efficiency, politeness, empathy, and reporting bad news have been of special interest. For example, she has proposed communication tools for improving subordinate reporting of bad news to superiors and CEO presentations of poor earnings to analysts. One of her current studies examines how preparing project work deliverables--such as contracting documents, status reports, and the final presentations--impacts the project work itself and has implications for project management.
Pris teaches Communication for the Global Manager and Communication Management, a case-based class focusing on recurring management activities. She is one of the three faculty members overseeing the Ross’s Global MBA Multidisciplinary Action Projects.
