Overview
Entrepreneurship in the Nonprofit Sector
Real People, Real Issues, Real Solutions
For more than a decade, the Ross School of Business Domestic Corps Internship
Program has remained at the forefront of nonprofit entrepreneurship through
the generous financial support of corporations, family foundations and alumni
donors. Visit our sponsor page for a complete listing
of this year’s sponsors.
The future holds unprecedented challenges that will require even more creative
partnerships between the nonprofit and business sectors in order to sustain
our communities. Our Showcase was developed to bring together these two groups—along
with the Domestic Corps interns who support them—to promote their project
achievements and provide a forum to share knowledge and generate new ideas and
partnerships.
Showcase Overview
Ross School of Business interns will be available to discuss their projects,
the nonprofits they worked with and the potential impact of those projects on
the organizations. Project categories include marketing, finance, business development,
organizational assessment and development, environment and impact evaluation.
Keynote speaker Bo Burlingham, editor-at-large
of Inc. magazine and author of the book, Small Giants, will
discuss the entrepreneurial companies in his book and how their special "mojo"
influenced them to choose to be great "small" companies instead of big ones. He
will then address how critical entrepreneurial leadership skills can benefit
nonprofit CEOs in their quest to create 'great' small organizations.
Nonprofit CEO partners, Domestic Corps interns and business leaders will speak
on economic, social and environmental issues and the challenges they present
in today's global community. The Showcase is open to Ross School of Business
students, corporate and private foundation directors, business leaders and nonprofit
executive directors.
