Fall A 2005: Computer Supported Cooperative Work

Fall B 2005: Evolutionary Computation and Business

In this seminar we will explore several approaches to simulation, research, and exploration that require today’s powerful computers. We will look at the Game of Life, multi-agent models, genetic algorithms, and genetic programming.

We will try both to gain a theoretical understanding of each of these techniques and also to get hands-on experience with these technologies. Throughout the seminar we will examine applications of each of these theories to business problems. At the end of the seminar students will design an experiment and implement a prototype of the system necessary to carry out the experiment.

For Fall 2005 - students should register for both BIT 885.001 and BIT 885.002 (for the full 14 weeks).
