BA 685 Section 001: Health Care Delivery in Emerging Markets

This class will look at business models for health care delivery in emerging markets. During Winter A, we will review a number of different examples, and the challenges facing those institutions. Students will work on team projects that delve more deeply into specific institutions in select countries. Students will travel to the specified country over spring break to interview relevant stakeholders. In Winter B, the teams will complete their data gathering and analysis and develop recommendations to be presented to the entire class and then the sponsors in April. Projects will be discussed at the Information Session on Tuesday, November 3, from 5:00-6:00 PM in R0220.
The course is open by application only and limited to 25 students. If you are interested, please attend the Information Session on November 3 for specific instructions on the application process, or check back here after November 3 for the online application link. 

You will be notified on your acceptance to the course by 5:00 PM on November 9 (in time for your other course biddings). A non-refundable deposit of $500 will reserve your space in the course. We expect the total student expense to amount to approximately $1,200 per student. Applications submitted after November 6 will be accepted if there is space. BA 685 Section 002: Business Education Delivery in Emerging Markets

The purpose of this class is to explore the challenges and opportunities of delivering business education in emerging markets. Specifically, the course aims to help students: 1) Understand the critical characteristics of effective entrepreneurship and business education programs, 2) Explore the challenges facing educators in emerging markets, 3) Gain exposure to some of the different business models being employed in the provision of business education in emerging markets. Students will work on team projects that delve more deeply into specific institutions in select countries. Students will travel to the specified country over spring break to interview relevant stakeholders. In Winter B, the teams will complete their data gathering and analysis and develop recommendations to be presented to the entire class and then the sponsors in April. Projects will be discussed at the Information Session on Wednesday, November 4, from 5:00-6:00 PM in W0750 (Wyly Hall).
