PRE-CONFERENCE TOUR OPTIONS - WEDNESDAY, JULY 11

**Tours will only be held when a minimum of 5 persons is reached.

**All tours will be back in time for the welcome cocktail reception.

 

 

Historical Robben Island and Table Mountain Tour (full day) - weather permitting:

08h30 - 17h00

Depart from Stellenbosch to the popular Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where we will board the ferry to historical Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for almost 19 of his 27 years in jail.  You will visit the small prison cell of Mandela and the prison yard where he worked in the hot sun as well as doing a bus tour of the Island.  We will come back to V&A Waterfront for a quick lunch and then proceed to Table Mountain to experience the spectacular views from the top.  Table Mountain was voted as one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Tour price: R990 per person (US$132)

Includes: Tickets to Robben Island and Cable Car up Table Mountain

Cape Point & Peninsula Tour (full day):

09h00 - 17h00

Travel along the Atlantic coast past the popular beaches of Clifton, Camps Bay and Llundudno en route to the fishing village of Hout Bay. Boat cruise to Seal Island to see the hundreds of seals (weather permitting). Continue over the scenic and spectacular Chapman’s Peak mountain pass via Misty Cliffs and the BIG FIVE curio market to the Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve and Cape Point. Experience the breathtaking views of the traditional meeting place of the two oceans. Enjoy lunch at the popular Two Oceans restaurant. We continue after lunch along the beautiful False Bay coast to see the Penguins at Boulders. Simonstown, Fishhoek and surfers paradise Muizenberg is some of the beautiful coastal towns on our way back to Stellenbosch.

Tour price: R680 per person (US$89)

Includes: Entrance fee to Houtbay, Chapmans Peak, Cape Point and Boulders (Penguins)

Excludes: Boat trip (R60pp) and lunch

 

The Cape Winelands Tour (full day):

09h00 - 17h00

Travel to the winegrowing areas of the Cape namely Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl. Taste award winning wines at Spier and Boschendal Estates against a backdrop of Cape Dutch houses and beautiful mountain ranges. Step back into time at Oom Samie's store in Stellenbosch and enjoy a delicious country lunch in Franschoek, the gourmet capital of the Cape. A day of typical Cape scenery - mountains, valleys and vineyards.

Tour price: R680 per person (US$89)

Includes: All entrance fees, 2 winetastings and cellar tour at KWV.

Includes: All entrance fees.

The Cape Winelands Tour - Nectar of Gods" (half day - PM):

You will visit the three most popular wine routes in the Cape. Taste wines at famous wine estates set against spectacular mountain backdrops and the finest Cape Dutch architecture. Cellar tour and two wine tastings, visit to Stellenbosch and Franschoek.

Orientation tour of the city of Cape Town!

Highlights include: Castle of Good Hope, District Six Museum, Freedom Square (where Mandela appeared or the first time after being released from prison), SA Museum, Company Gardens, St. Georges Cathedral, Greenmarket Square and Table Mountain (weather permitting), otherwise Signal Hill. 

Tour price: R500 per person (US$67)

Includes: Entrance to District Six
